Storyboard Text

  • HOLES by Louis Sachar
  • Maybe I will make some friends. I did not have those at home. My family is poor and cursed with the worst luck (p.7).
  • Camp Green Lake
  • “The lake was so full of holes and mounds that it reminded Stanley of pictures he’d seen of the moon” (p. 27).
  • “Madame Zeroni warned that if he failed to do this, he and his descendants would be doomed for all of eternity. At the time, Elya thought nothing of the curse. He was just a fifteen-year-old kid, and ‘eternity’ didn’t didn’t seem much longer than a week from Tuesday” (p.31).
  • Stanley and the other boys were told that digging holes built character. The warden really just wanted the loot that was buried 100 years ago.
  • This is all because of my "no good dirty rotten pig stealling great, great, grandfather" (p.28).
  • Holes by Louis Sachar
  • “He glanced downward and had to force himself to suppress a scream. He was standing in a lizard nest. He felt the scream explode inside him" (p. 205).
  • Exposition Stanley Yelnats was an overweight, poor kid that did not have any friends. After being accused of stealing Clyde Sweetfeet Livingston's baseball cleats, he was sent to Camp Green Lake. It was hot, dry, and there was no lake to be found. The only wildlife were scorpions, rattlesnakes, and yellow-spotted lizards.
  • “The Attorney General handed Ms. Morengo a sheet of paper. “You’re free to go,” he said to Stanley. “I know you’re anxious to get out of here, so you can just keep the orange suit as a souvenir. Or burn it, whatever you want. Good luck, Stanley” (pp. 218-219).
  • Conflict - Man versus Fate As Stanley digs in the dried up lake, he comes to the conclusion that all of his bad luck is because of his grandfather not fulfilling his promise to a gypsy.
  • Climax Stanley and Zero found the treasure chest that the warden wanted so much. Mr. Sir, the warden, and Mr. Pendanski find Stanley and Zero with the treasure and keep them captive in the hole waiting for the lizards to kill them with their poisonous bite.
  • Resolution Stanley's lawyer, Ms. Morango, with the Attorney General came to the camp to get Stanley because he was innocent. When they found out what was going on at the camp, they arrested every counselor and the warden. Stanley and Zero were finally freed.
  • Graphic Novel - Performance Task By Hayden Jestes I love playing sports including baseball and football, and spending time with my family and pets. When I am not outside, you can find me reading.
