Storyboard Text

  • The peasants were the largest class, and they had to pay the majority of unfair taxes.  They were at the bottom of the estates.
  • The nobility made up 2% of France's population, and paid little taxes.  They were the "middle class."
  • The clergy was the church officials, and they were at the top. They didn't pay any  taxes.
  • The Bastille, armory and prison, was stormed because weapons were thought to be stored here. This showed that the French people were done fooling around and were ready to fight back.
  • CHARGE!!
  • The Reign Of Terror was a very scary time when the Committee of Public Safety took very harsh steps to control France. About 40,000 people died, including Queen Marie Antoinette.
  • Napoleon took over France by staging a coup d'etat. That is when a military group overthrows the government and takes it over.
  • I'm Napoleon Bonaparte and I'm taking over!
