- "When I stepped out into the bright sunlight,from the darkness of the movie house,I had only two things on my mind,Paul Newman and a ride home".
- Dally kept bothering Cherry and Marcia,so Johnny told him to stop and Dally left.We sat next to them and watched the movie but also talked for a little,than Two-bit showed up and he wanted to walk us home so we went with him and talked on the way,watching the blue mustang come around over again.It was Bob and Randy,the boyfriends of Marcia and Cherry.We were in trouble but not scared,only Johnny was cause it reminded him of something bad.
- Me and Johnny were running to the park after Darry hit me in an argument. We sat at a bench and realized there was a mustang following us, Bob and Randy plus a couple of other socs. They go out and we ran, till they caught us in the fountain. They started to drown me in the fountain, and they beat Johnny up a little. Johnny pulled his knife out and stabbed Bob on the back. The next thing I remembered was me waking up and seeing Bob there dead bleeding. Johnny said" I killed him Ponyboy, I killed him, they were drowning you, I had to, they could have killed you".
