  • Ganiji!? Who are those strange men?
  • They look like Hutu soldiers! Let's go alert the village.
  • MOM! DAD! Ganiji and I saw a squad of Hutu soldiers and they are heading this way!
  • Grab your things boys!
  • We must leave our village now!
  • EVERYONE TAKE COVER! WE ARE UNDER ATACK!!
  • Take these two alive!
  • We can turn the boy into a soldier!
  • We could definitely use the women!
  • We are lucky to have escaped! We must find a way to free Mom and Sulu! They are being held captive by the Hutu soldiers! What right do those soldiers have to murder our people?
  • The Hutu tribe feel as if they are the superior race and they want to exterminate the Tutsi population. I fear the worst for our family and our Tutsi people
  • We can take shelter in this cave and devise a plan to free Sulu and mom!
  • We will get your mother and brother back even if I die trying.
  • LOOK! There is your mother and Sulu!
  • Ganiji and Sulu are two normal Rowandan boys playing in a field when they see a squad of Hutu soldiers coming their way. The boys have never seen soldiers before and they don't understand why they are armed and headed toward their village.
  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  • Ganiji and Sulu sprint home to warn the village about the Hutu troops! Much like the boys, no one else understands why armed Hutu soldiers would be in Tutsi territory. They are afraid and unaware of the mounting conflict between the two opposing ethnic groups that led to the death of the Hutu President. After this act of war, the Hutu extremists launched their plans to destroy the entire Tutsi population. .
  • Hello friends, I'm hunting boar! What seems to be troubling you?
  • Akua is that you?
  • The Hutu soldiers ambushed our village and abducted my mom and little brother! We need help rescuing them!
  • Hutu soldiers surround the village and begin firing their rifles into the village to revenge the death of President Habyarimana. They intend on wiping out the Tutsi civilian population one village at a time.
  • That is terrible! Yes I will help! Let me go back to my village and gather more manpower and weapons!
  • Thank you Akua!
  • Great! We must defeat the soldiers before they reach your village!
  • The soldiers advance into the village and brutally kill everyone in the village; however Sulu and Ganiji's mother are spared. The soldiers plan on using Sulu as a boy soldier and his mother as a rape slave. Ganiji and his father barely escape.
  • We have the soldiers surrounded!!
  • Lets go to battle!
  • All I have is a spear… Uh oh
  • Ganiji and his father are shaken up by the attack and are devastated by the capture of Sulu and his Mother. They are bewildered to why the Hutu soldiers massacred their people. They fear for their lives and the well-being of the Tutsi nation.
  • We must save my village!!
  • Dad! Where did mom and Sulu go?!
  • They were here last night!! Let's look for their tracks and follow them! They are probably headed toward Akua's village!
  • Ganiji and his father stumble apon a cave. They decide to sleep in the cave for the night and come up with a plan to rescue their loved ones and warn other villages.
  • It looks like we found the Hutu soldiers' footprints!
  • The tracks are headed straight toward Akua's village! We have to alert the others!
  • When Ganiji and his Father enter the cave, they find the Hutu soldiers asleep and Sulu and Mom tied up in the corner. They know that they are out-numbered and need help. They decide to quietly leave the cave and search for more Tutsi villagers to aid them in their rescue mission.
  • We are outnumbered! Lets go find some other people to help us rescue them!
  • Ganiji and his father desperately search for help. While walking through the forrest, they stumble upon their friend from a neighboring village. His name is Akua and he is hunting for warthogs.
  • Akua has not heard about the Hutu attack yet and he is infuriated by the situation. He agrees to help Ganiji and his father. Akua leaves to gather men and weapons. They fear that if they do not stop the Hutu soldiers, Akua's village could also be destroyed and his people murdered.
  • Akua and other Tutsi villagers join Ganiji and his father at the mouth of the cave. They surround the cave and prepare for battle! The other villagers helping Ganiji is a sign of loyalty and respect and willingness to put their lives at risk to protect their friends and families.
  • Akua and the other Tutsi villagers, Ganiji and his father storm into the cave prepared for a fierce battle. However, when they enter the cave the Hutu soldiers are gone with Sulu and Mom. Ganiji is heart-broken but his father discovers their tracks and they decide to follow them.
  • Ganiji and his father follow the soldiers' footprints. They anticipate catching up to them at any minute.
  • Akua, Ganiji and his father finally track the soldiers down; they stumble apon them in an open clearing. They decide that their chances are better at night. They hide in the bushes and wait for the soldiers to go to sleep. The rest of the Tutsi villagers wait on their signal.
  • Look dad they are over there! It looks like they are setting up camp for the night
  • Let's wait until they go to sleep and we will ambush them!
  • I fear that if we fail tonight my village and family will be gone forever.
  • The soldiers are finally asleep, and they prepare for their ambush. Ganiji's father realizes that the soldiers are asleep in a circle around Sulu and Mom. They realize that if they only ambush them from one side, Sulu and Mom could be injured. They decide to surround the soldiers would be a much more effective way of successfully rescuing Sulu and his Mom.
  • Great they are asleep!!
  • If we ambush them now, Sulu and your Mother might be harmed! We must surround them first.
