the kamkura was a period of buddhism. the emperor was go-shirakawa. the groups were the minamoto and the tairo clans. both clans fought to become the new Bakufu.
in the twelth century Two powerful clans had arisen in the kamakura period they were called the taira and the minamoto both were governments of there own shoen and samurai armies.
In 1195 both clans fought against each other to rule over Kyoto and to have control over the former emperor.
Tairo kiyomori won the battle, but lost his rule a while after.
minamoto yoshitomo son yoritomo led a rebeliion (fight) against the tairo clan.
In 1185 tairo clan was defeated in a battle. After the yoshitoma became the Shogun.
