Playing around with combinations of backgrounds and foregrounds with different degrees of realism. Scott McCloud got me thinking about this
Being a cartoon is nice. Since I'm so simple... so universal, everyone can relate to me. They can imagine being me, or that I'm someone they know
Of course the same could also be said of this mailbox. Stupid mailbox... upstaging my universal appeal...
I want people identifying with me, not the box. If only there were a way to make the mailbox more specific... more real..
Ah ha! The more realistic background makes the setting real and specific, but allows me to be generic in a comforting and adorable way. I wonder what happens if I reverse it...
Now I am super Creepy!!!!!
OMG. I am never doing that again.
