Captured in Africa
Transported to America
Sold in America
We were captured in our village. We traveled in the woods for three weeks. We were taken to a boat. Our captors were paid in liquor and cotton.
Living in America
We were shipped in very bad conditions between the decks of the ships and some of the prisoners went crazy.
Working in America
We were sold as workers. We were examined like horses.
We had to sleep on the ground with ten to twelve people in a room. The rain and snow got inside the hut through the cracks in the walls.
We had to do hard work like farming crops and livestock.
