  • Events That Lead To the Decline Of Feudlism
  • Magna Carta
  • the growing of towns and markets... (curcades)
  • The Hundred Years War
  • The Bubonic Plague
  • Magna Carta
  •  Some of the changes strengthened royal authority at the expense of the nobles. Others eventually shifted some power to the common people. Established the idea of rights and liberties that even a Monarch can't violate. This lead to the decline of feudalism.
  • So many people were dying. In TCI it states, "the plague took a terrible toll on Asians and Europeans populations. China's population was reduced by nearly half." Also trade and commerce slowed to almost a halt during the plague years. The economy needed to be rebuilt, but it wouldn't be built in the same way because feudal lords no longer had power.
  • The Bubonic Plague
  • The Hundred Years War lead to the decline of feudalism because it helped the power shift from feudal lords to monarchs and to common people. Also people were forced to fight and pay high taxes more often.
  • The Hundred Year War
  • As towns grew wealthier, town dwellers began to resent the lord's feudal rights and his demands for taxes. They felt they no longer needed the Lord's protection—or his interference. In some places, such as northern France and Italy, violence erupted as towns struggled to become independent. This lead to the decline because people were fighting and the people were mad about the high demands for taxes.
