Conflict
Doodle (the narrator's little brother) was born with difficult challenges in his life and wasn't able to do many things so the narrator didn't accept him how Doodle was born
Is my brother going to be mentally challenged
Rising Action
Doodle now knows how to walk and the narrator is convinced he can teach other stuff to doodle. One day Doodle saw a scarlet ibis while eating dinner the bird was injured and not ok. Once the scarlet ibis hit the ground and died Doodle developed a connection between the bird and him.
Climax
"Let's go Doodle."
The narrator goes back to look for his brother as the storm gets stronger but finds his brother under a red nightshade with his knees up and his face in his arms
Falling Action
"Doodle! Doodle!"
The narrator realizes Doodle died and huddles over him to protect him from the storm. He notices Doodle is like the scarlet ibis when it fell out of the tree. A long broken neck and feet inward
Resolution
My pride killed my brother
The narrator recalls what killed Doodle: "pride is a wonderful, terrible thing, a seed that bears two vines, life and death
