- Don't let her get away!
- Over here!
- After Alina escaped the little palace, she was hunted down by the Darkling's men. She ran to get away from them.
- Why did you run?? I have been worried!
- Alina was hiding from the soldiers behind a tree, hoping they would miss her and move on.
- Let's get out of here before we are caught.
- As Alina continued to hide from the guards, Mal finds her in the forest because he was sent to track her down and find her.
- Mal gets mad at Alina for fleeing the palace. The guards are getting closer, and Mal decides to desert his post and help Alina get away.
- Mal joins Alina on her journey. However, they decide to go track down the stag and kill it before the Darkling does. It takes them weeks to travel to the permafrost where the stag is located.
- One night, while travelling to the permafrost, they spend the night in a cave, where Alina shows Mal her power to summon light . He is scared but also happy Alina has discovered who she was meant to be.
