- Gandhi was born in India in 1869.He had rich parents.His parents decided to send him to england to study law
- Gandhi worked as a lawyer in South Africa for 22 years
- When Gandhi returned to India it was ruled by Britain as it was for 200 years.Gandhi wanted peace and independence.
- So Gandhi decided to protest and one of his most famous protest is the salt march
- Gandhi was looking for an issue to bring everyone together.He chose salt so he walked 250 miles from his headquarters to the coast and this was illegal.
- Eventually Gandhi was arrested but protest still went on.Twenty years later Britain was so weak due to the world war the British gave independence to India
