  • South Carolina passed a Nullification Act. I think that states should have the right to nullify a law. What do you think?
  • No! I will not allow them to nullify my orders!
  • President Andrew Jackson is deciding to pass a tariff following in Alexander Hamilton's lead.
  • Force Act
  • The Southerners disliked the tariff because it was too expensive, but the Northerners approved of the tariff it supported their manufacturing.
  • South Carolina
  • The Force Act is so unfair!
  • Calhoun and Jackson argue about tariffs and the nullification act. This breaks up their political relationship.
  • Jackson passed the Force Act which made people to pay their taxes because an armed soldier was sent to collect it.
