  • Leonhard Euler was born in Basel, Switzerland to Paul Euler and Marguerite Brucker in a little town house. He was born April 15, 1707 and died on September 18, 1783, Saint Petersburg, Russia.

  • Though originally slated for a career as a rural clergyman, Euler showed an early aptitude and propensity for mathematics, and thus, after studying with Johan Bernoulli, he attended the University of Basel and earned his master's during his teens. Moving to Russia in 1727
  • Leonhard Euler, the 18th century Swiss mathematician and physicist is considered to be one of the greatest mathematicians of all time for the tremendous contributions he made to the field of pure mathematics. He went to the University of Basel.
  • His wives were Salome Abigail Gsell (m. 1776–1783), Katharina Gsell (m. 1734–1773). He had two daughters and three sons which their names were Johann Euler, Christof Euler, Charlotte Euler, Karl Euler, Helene Euler.
  • The works which Euler published separately are: Dissertatio physica de sono (Dissertation on the physics of sound) (Basel, 1727, in quarto) Mechanica, sive motus scientia analytice; expasita (St Petersburg, 1736, in 2 vols. ... Einleitung in die Arithmetik (St Petersburg, 1738, in 2 vols.
  • Euler's writing standardized modern mathematics notation with symbols such as: f(x),e,pi,and that E but that has sharp turns.(sorry if I detail them in a weird way I just dont have those notations on my keyboard.)
