The highest number that divides exactly into two numbers.When we find all the factors of two or more numbers and some factors are the same then the largest common factors is the greatest common factor
For example the Gcf can go something like this you have two numbers that are 8 and 6 you have to list the factors that equal the numbers so 6's factors are 6,1,6,2,3,2 and 8's factors are 8,1,4,2, so what two numbers that are the biggest out of these two data sets. The answer is 2
The least common multiple of two numbers is the smallest number that they both divide evenly into. When you have the Lcm you will look for the least multiple between the two data sets
