Storyboard Text

  • The struggle for people with disabilities did not start when the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990, but it started with many people and children being excluded and left out of normal every day life.
  • During the decades before the act was passed, people had noticed injustices faced by people out in the public eye all the time. This casued people to start a movement, and this movement had copied styles of the civil rights movement just before.
  • Before the act was passed there was a lack of accessibility for people in wheelchairs and other disabilities in many aspects of everyday life.
  • Many people were being excluded for their disabilities and this was seen as a form of discrimination
  • After decades of injustice people began to protest and try to advocate for the rights of disabled people to finally shed light on an issue once so ignored.
  • Rights 4 Disabilities!!!
  • With enough attention this movement gained so much support and traction, that they took it to Washington
  • Rights 4 Disabilities!!!
