Storyboard Text

  • In late February of 1692,Tituba, Samuel Parris' slave, is teaching Abigail Williams and Betty Parris the egg fortune telling game. If the egg shape shifts into an object it predicts their future.
  • Once the girls saw their future they started to cry and babble. Tituba realizes her mistake and tries to console them by making them a witch cake. A witch cake contains ashes, urine, and rye. (It didn't help)
  • When Samuel Harris found out that Tituba was involved with what was wrong with the girls she was charged with 13 months in prison. Parris refused to pay for her bail and she was left with no owner.
  • Another victim was Sarah Good. She was seen as a beggar and an outcast by the town. She was accused of practicing witchcraft, but maintained her innocence in trial. She was ultimately charged guilty and was hanged
  • Sarah Osborne was another victim as well. She was an elderly woman and had a somewhat contentious history, having faced criticism for her relationship with her husband before his death. She died in jail before reaching trial, which led to the dismissal of her case posthumously.
  • Governor Phips' wife was accused of being a witch because of her sympathy towards the witches .
  • Governor Phips demanded that the witch trials would stop and put an end to it once and for all.
  • Eleven years after all the families that were involved gained restitution by the government.
  • This document states that all the heirs to each family that was involved in the Salem Witch Trials. Each family will gain 600 pounds in restitution . Please use carefully.Sincerely, Governor William Phips
