Its about 1999 and Marcus is the new kid in town. He use to live in Olathe Ks, Where he was born and raised. His new town he lives in is the home of the raiders. Its summer when he moves and football tryouts are right around the corner. "The quest for perfection begins on August 18th with tryouts, Go Raiders! This means marcus needs to get into football shape because its right around the corner.
Marcus was born and raised in Olathe, KS. He moved with his mom after his parents got a divorce. Marcus is the protagionist and was the JV quaterback back in Kansas. Now, hes looking for a spot on the Raiders who won a state title after going 11-0. His only friend in town is charle a 50 year old man who played in the NFL and is helping him out. " A man who grabbed his ball and threw it back to him witha tight spiral and was ripped decided to help charle enhance his game.
The main flaw of Marcus is probably that he is a very good athlete, especially a very good quarterback. But when it comes to getting the starting spot on his team, he struggles.
The inner conflict of the main character Marcus is that he is trying to make new friends and escape the past with his dad. Marcus has to deal with many external confilcts such as Troy and him breaking a window by throwing a football through it. Marcus flaw will be tested in the story when its his turm to play quaterback.
The antagonist is Troy, the starting quaterback for the raiders who hates Marcus and wants to ruin him. Troy is the antagonist because he will do anything for Marcus to leave and go away.
