  • EAT IT FAT BOY!
  • 3 x 4 +14 - 2 = 24
  • Derek, did you know that I taught your dad?
  • This is an example of Again & Again because the subject of Letters from his dad that are kept in a Knight Rider lunch box show up many times during the book.
  • Zeroman is the best
  • This is an example of Contrast & Contradiction because Derek almost never acts this way in school, and usually takes the high road when he is picked on.
  • I don't have to allow them to do anything. It's not even any of your business.
  • This is a Memory Moment because Derek's teacher is recalling a memory about teaching his dad.
  • This is an example of Contrast and Contradiction because Derek is running to his room as a result of his aunt not telling him why his mom is upset.
  • Derek watching the TV Show, Zeroman, is an example of an Again & Again Signpost because he frequently watches or discusses the show throughout the book.  It is good vs. evil, which is how he views school and his dad being gone at times.
  • This is an example of Contrast & Contradiction because Derek doesn't usually disrespect adults, especially the principal.
  • This is an example of Again & Again because Derek keeps having dreams about he and his Dad flying missions in an Apache helicopter.  It is his way of trying to connect with his dad who is no longer alive.
