- Henri, why hasn't there been any transports in days!
- I don't know, it was the only thing that could remotely distract us from the unbearable heat.
- Come on! The transports. have arrived.
- Let's go, you could come with me! I'm sure we could steal some shoes or food.
- Okay.
- Selection
- I can't breathe
- Henri and the narrator begin discussing about how they would steal pieces of clothing, champagne, and food.
- Water! Please!
- What's going to happen to us?!
- Do not steal anything! This train better be completely empty!
- Get up, I know it's hot but you can't let them see that you're tired.
- The narrator, Henri, and the other members of the labor group wait under the scorching sun for the train to arrive.
- Take this child and go to the left.
- You actually thought leaving your child would relieve you from the gas chamber.
- The train arrives and chaos breaks out as everyone on the crowded train panics. The SS soldiers then tell them to leave all their belongings. The selection process begins as each person is told to stand on the right or left. The people on the left will be sent to gas chamber and those on the right will be used for labor first.
- Henri, am I a bad person for not caring that these people are going to die. I blame them, they're the reason we're working in this heat.
- The narrator is instructed to give a baby to a woman and tell her to get in line for the trucks leaving for the gas chambers. Meanwhile, a woman attempted to be sent to the right by leaving her child behind. Yet, she is caught by an SS soldier and thrown on the tracks along with her baby.
