  • Takes place in a foreign country. Introduces 4 characters Mr.White, Mrs.White, Herbert, and Sergeant Major Morris. also it is at evening because they go to bed after the visit with the sergeant.

  • Knock! Knock!
  • The main conflict in this story is when Mr.White receives the monkeys paw from the sergeant and then he wishes for 200 pounds. nothing happens so they joke but just wait and see what happens.
  • Falling action
  • I wish...
  • Mr and Mrs. White son died due to machinery problems. The company wants to pay for him for his son being a good worker. the amount was 200 pounds. Later that night Mrs. white was not in bed and Mr.White went to look for her. when he found her sobbing she came up with the idea to wish her son alive. Mr. White thought it was mad but still wished.
  • Resolution
  • After the wish the following night there was a knock on the door. The knock was very faint and the whites thought it had to be there son. But Mr.White couldn't imagine what his mangled son looked like.
  • So Mrs.White runs to the door but Mr. white was a little faster and grabbed Mrs.White. Then he asked if she was mad. but she just pushed him aside and asked why he would hold her back. then she runs down the steps and tried opening the door. she was to short and asked for help. he refused so Mrs.White went to get a chair. but Mr.White had found the monkey paw and used his third .
  • Finally Mrs. white got the door open and eagerly ran to the gate. Mr.White was right behind her. Scared of what he might see. but all there was a street lamp on opposite the house shone flickering on a quiet and deserted road.
