  • This is very important for our country, it will more than double the size of it!
  •  Go to France and negotiate buying the Louisiana territory.
  • The Negotiation 4/30/1803
  • $15 million
  • DEAL!
  • Lewis and Clark
  • Would you two like to take a crew and explore out west? You will take 31 men.
  • Definitely yes!
  • Thomas Jefferson tells James Monroe and Robert Livingston to go negotiate while Napoleon in France. 
  • Beginning of Exploring 5/14/1804
  • Tell the rest of the crew to start setting up campsite because we will need to be up early tomorrow morning and get going.
  • You will encounter some mountains if you continue west.
  • Napoleon offers the Louisiana territory to America for $15 million. 
  • Sacagawea 9/1805
  • We come in peace. We would like to borrow to your horses.
  • Jefferson asks Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to lead the expedition across the newly purchased Louisiana territory.
  • The Ocean 11/15/1805
  • Oh my goodness, we've come so far.
  • Lewis and Clark get their men to set up camp on their first night away from home.
  • Yes sir.
  • They ask the Shoshone Indians to use their horses and Sacagawea tells them the geography they have to look forward to.
  • We always want to help!
  • Lewis and Clark see the Pacific Ocean for the first time.
  • But all the accomplishments we've made are crazy!
