Victorio by Tate Campbell
This storyboard does not have a description.
It is said that Victorio was born in 1825 in New Mexico but some believe that he was in fact part mexican but others say that it is not possible. Not much is known about his younger years but he did join a group call the Mangas Coloradas and when the leader died he slowly emerged as leader.
The men that fought Victorio said that he was a born leader and tactician. But in 1877 he did very little raiding as he lived on a reservation.
While Victorio lived on the reservation he was peacful. But then Officers had him leave but at first he protested due to not wanting to leave half ripe crops but then left.
After leaving the reservation Victorio decided to start raiding again. He raided for 3 yearsin mexico and sometimes in Texas near Fort Davis and El Paso.
He started being pursued by the tenth cavalry led by Lt. Col. Benjamin H. Grierson. In many attempts to locate him even with the Mexicans help he failed.
The Colonel then heard about the whereabouts of Victorio.Victorio would always retreat to a mountain range in Mexico and thats where Lt.Col.Grierson sprung his trap killing Victorio and his men sparing only women and children.
