Storyboard Text

  • Lencho thought only of his one hope : the hep of God. Lencho was an ox of a man , working like an animal in the fields , but still he knew how to write. The following Sunday, he began to write a letter to God which he himself dropped it into the mailbox.
  • A Letter to God
  • It is going to rain, we will get some water & these flowers will grow into corn. The harvest this year will earn more money,
  • Lencho
  • As Lencho had predicted, big drops of rain began to fall. Lencho was very happy, he went out for no reason than to have the pleasure of feeling the rain on his body. But the happiness did not last for long. Suddenly a strong wind began to blow and along with the rain very large hailstones began to fall.
  •
  • Lencho, went up and wrote another letter and posted it. As soon as he posted it , the postmaster went and opened it.
  •
  • It did not pass quickly. For an hour the hail rained on the house, the garden , the hillside , the cornfield , On the whole valley. The field was white, as if covered with salt. The hail had destroyed Lencho's crops.
  •
  • A plague of locusts would have left more. This hail has left us nothing. This year we will have no corn. All our work, for nothing . We'll all go hungry this year.
  • In the letter :God, If you don,t help me, my family and I will go hungry this year. I need a hundred pesos in order to sow my field again to live until the crop comes, because the hailstrom...."
  • God, will not let anyone die of hunger. God will help us.
  • The postmaster who came across the letter did not want to break the faith of Lencho. He decided to help him in the place of God. He managed to collect 70 pesos from his employees , he himself gave a part of his salary. He put the money in an envelope addressed to Lencho and with it a letter containing only a single word as a signature: God.
  • The following Sunday, Lencho came a bit earlier , the postmaster himself who handed the letter, experiencing the contentment of a man who performed a good deed , looked on from his office. Lencho counted the money he showed not a slightest surprise on seeing the money.
  • God could not have made a mistake nor could he have denied me what I had requested.
  • It said "God: Of the money that I asked for, only seventy pesos reached me. Send me the rest, since I need it very much. But don't send it to me through the mail because the post office employees are a bunch of crooks. Lencho."
  • The end.
