  • SANI VOICE-OVER (finishing from Part One)
  • If you have more or less than 250 grams of kava, then don't worry: at the end of the video we will give you a breakdown of how much water to use depending on whatever amount of kava powder you have.
  • SCENE 4
  • Fade into Wide Shot of Sani and Rutha
  • Now you have worked out how much water you are going to need, you will also need to get yourself a straining cloth. I normally use a cheese cloth type of fabric, however, I have heard that panty-hose work just as well.
  • Oh REALLY, Sani - I've got some in my bag if you want to use one of mine!
  • That's OK Rutha..but thanks for the offer!
  • LAF BIG WAN!
  • LAF BIG WAN!
  • Fade Out
  • Now that you have all of your equipment ready, it's time to start preparing the kava so that it's ready to drink
  • Thanks Sani - I'm looking forward to it
  • To get the maximum strength from your kava powder, you should only fill the straing cloth about two-thirds full.
  • Fade out from Wide shot to Medium Close-Up, facing downwards, of Sani standing over the kava bowl with the straining cloth
  • Fade into medium CU of Sani
  • If you put too much kava powder in during each preparation process, you may not get the maximum strength for your kava powder. So this is very important
  • HALF
  • Sani spoons in half of the 250 gram bag into the straining cloth which is sitting in the kava bowl
  • In this case, I am going to put in half of my 250 gram bag and use half of my water. I'll then make a second batch with the other half powder and water
  • HALF
  • Close-Up of Sani closing up the kava powder bag
  • Also please note that if you are not going to use all of your kava powder in one preparation sitting, then I recommend that you keep it in an airtight container. Or if you have bought kava powder from Vanuatu Kava Store or The Kava Emporium, then simply re-seal it.
