- Suddenly looking at us menacingly was a large kite. Bodh Raj lifted his catapult, aimed at the kite and shot but it missed. He gave me the catapult and asked me to keep hitting. He picked up a table and put it under the mynah's nest.
- Bodh Raj was a very callous and vindictive boy. He would always have a catapult and a few rocks along with him. His pockets are filled with live parrots, an assortment of eggs and prickly hedgehogs. He would pounce on a butterfly sitting on a flower and crush it between his fingers.
- I moved into a large bungalow. It was on the outskirts of the city so all of his friends rarely came to visit except Bodh Raj. Bodh Raj found it a good hunting place. His mother told him -
- If your friend is so fond of destroying nest, tell him to clean our store room. The birds have made it very filthy
- The next time Bodh Raj came, I took him to the store room. I was worried as he had brought his catapult along with him. He aimed at some Mynahs but missed.
- Aim at the Kite. Go on hitting it. Don't let it sit down
- Lets get out of here
- Bodh Raj said that we have to give them water, he fed them himself and told me not to touch them, nor did he. The next day Bodh Raj came but he had neither a catapult nor pebbles instead he had a bag of seeds. They fed the mynahs and watched their antics.
