- At the start of the passage, it explains that Major Griffiths was fully nude running around the ship that Roald came in many times. He saw Roald and invited him to join him. Major Griffiths was also accompanied by his wife.
- Ms. Trefusis sat at the same dinner table as Roald and is described as all bones and gray skin which meant that Ms. Trefusis was really skinny along with being old. She also had very bad posture and talked to Roald about her life. After Roald spoke with her he described her as impatient, intelligent, generous, and interesting,
- The U.N savory was pretty odd after the big discovery Roald made about him. At first, he supposedly has something called dandruff something that can be cured that comes from hair. Many people gave him recipes to get rid of it.
- When they were having dinner Major Griffiths had asked Roald if he wad played polo. Roald made a joke about the game and Major Griffiths and his wife were offended by the joke he had made then continued to separate from where Roald was and stopped talking to him.
- Miss Trefusis was also a very delicate and clean person due to the fact that she was pealing and eating an orange with a fork and knife. She continued to explain to Roald why you shouldn't eat with your fingers because they touched so many things even after you have washed them. she continued to say that the worst part of the human body that disgusts her are toes because they are like worms on your feet.
- Roald made a big discovery after forgetting his pipe in his room. He found The U.N. Savory but will a bald head. He was very weirded out and confused and the U.N. Savory was embarrassed. He later found out he used hedgehog's hair as a wig for his bald head. every week he switched the wig for a longer one to make it seem as his hair grew and was normal. Once he was at the longest wig he asked people where the nearest barber was and started all over with the wig lengths.
