The colonists had many strengths and weaknesses when it came to the American Revolution. They were determined, disciplined, knew the area way better than the British, had smarter battle tactics by hiding in the woods instead of fighting in formation and had the right ideas and ways to ambush the British. However, the things the colonists lacked was fighting power, man power, resources, and experience. The British had commanders and were trained. They also had foughten huge wars before and had the battle experience needed to wipeout whoever they went against. Ultimately, the thing that won the American Revolution for the colonists was the idea of change. The colonists knew that in order to defeat the British they needed tactics far from ordinary and what was normalized. The way the colonists fought with their guerilla warfare fighting tactics caught Britain by surprise and it was a way of fighting Britain had never seen before. And the needed intelligence to lead the colonial militia with George Washington and other representatives of the United States, it allowed attacks to become more planned and better executed.
