The Kapos and Jews are walking to their next camp and they are starving. The Czechs are leaving loaves of bread on their porches for the Jews, and they are trying to go get the bread without any of the other Jews seeing them. There was this one Jew that would not stop following me.
I had seen a Czech put out four loaves of bread and all I could think about was the fresh bread melting in my mouth. I quickly walked to the house and quietly as I could so none of the Jews had seen me. Every step I took in the snow, there was a crunch noise so I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Jews saw me.
