- Stop keeping weak laws, we need harsher punishment!
- Henry and Becket argue due to disagreement with laws and punishments. Becket takes his job 'too seriously' and will not change the punishments to extreme consequences.
- Becket flees to France for six years because of the argument.
- Becket returns before excommunicating his bishops who helped with Henry's needs when he was gone.
- Henry is extremely annoyed and wishes for riddance of the priest. Four knights overhear this and venture to murder Thomas Becket.
- Later on, news arrives that Thomas Becket has been murdered by the four knights because of the 'King's orders'. Many are furious at Henry.
- Henry, trying to gain forgiveness, Henry punishes himself and lets his followers whip his back and hurt him out of guilt. He also sleeps on the floor that Becket was killed on, and is later forgiven by the priest.
