- Exposition:-In the 1960s in the America-Julia and her family immigtrated from the Dominican republic to America as they wanted as they wanted to escape from the dictator Rafael Trujillo.-the mother liked to invent at night when she finished all the housework. Her inventions were( suitcase with wheels,key chain with timer time capsules for plants ).-The mothers accent wasnt that good in english.-The mother wasnt supporting her daughters in school even though they were getting bullied. Julia called her a "terrible girlfriend parent.

- Rising action:-Julia was asked to write a speech for the teachers day.-Julia was a bad student at the Dominican republic but when she moved to the united states she became a good student .-Julia didnt want to write the speech because she didnt want to speak to public . Because she still had an accent and people would make fun of her, as she didnt want to be the teachers pet. -Walt Witman was saying his opinion about the teachers without boundaries (destroying the teachers).
- Climax:-Julia wrote the speech and her mother was proud of her ,but the father was angry and didnt like the speech. As he thought it was disrespectful to teachers.-Julia called him a "chapitah"wich means a dictator and then she went to her room sadly.
- Falling action:-The mother for the first time helped cukita and wrote a speech for her and it was respectful for the teachers .
- Resolution:-The father bought a typewriter for cukita as an apology.
