  • A- Accuracy
  • For this source, I'm going to start off with simply looking up whether mythological creatures are real. And most of the sources I'm looking through says it's not true. I've also looked up whether there was a creature NYC and sure enough, this was also untrue. This leads to the conclusion that this website is inaccurate.
  • The second to last category of CRAAP is accuracy. This is about how accurate the information on the source is. This one is arguably the most important since it defines whether the information can even be used for your needs. This matters because the information that is used needs to be correct or else your project or whatever this is needed for is unreliable. To evaluate the category, search through the articles for facts that are stated and look them up. If there are other sources that agree with the fact, it is more than likely true. It is smart to do more than one since a lot of fake sources are based on fact.
  • R- Relevance
  • The next category is relevance. This has to do with how the source fits your needs. It's important because a source isn't helpful if it can't be used for your needs. This website passes relevance since it's about mythological creatures which works for my researching these creatures.
  • CRAAP TEST RESULTS
  • For the CRAAP test, all of the categories pretty much need have passed. This source passed only 2 of the 5 categories. Using the test, I figured out that the website has inaccurate information, isn't meant to be used for informing purposes, and is created by a comedian who has no background in mythology. All of this proves that I should not use this source for my research and should probably find another source to use. So glad monsters aren't real.
