A'nyah Reynolds Fever 1793

Fever 1793 is a book about a girl named Mattie who survived yellow fever. My favorite scene is when Mattie finds Nathaniel after the yellow fever is over. The children had been sick. Mattie and Eliza were trying to get them better. The frost came, and Mattie and Eliza put the kids outside to eliminate the yellow fever. The children got better and the yellow fever went away. Mattie went to the market to see if anyone had heard anything about her mother. Mattie feels someone touch her arm. She looks over and sees Nathaniel next to her. She was happy to see that he was safe and healthy. Mattie and Nathaniel talked about Mattie’s mother Nathaniel became a constant caller. This scene is important to the story because this is the part where we hear about the yellow fever going away in Philadelphia. We also see Mattie beginning to rebuild her life.
