Once upon a time there was a boy named Makato. He was an orphan, and had no friends or family to take care of him. Because he had to make his own living he did all kinds of odd jobs.

Then Makato started his journey to the north-east then he meet a woman and adopt him.
When he met the king, Pra Ruang gave him a cowrie shell. He went to he market place and bought some lettuce seeds and then woman gave it to him for free.
Makato planted the seeds and after a month, the seeds grew and the biggest lettuce was given to the King by Makato. The King was amazed and Makato tells the whole story.
The king was so glad that he made Makato as his right hand. Makato grew up handsome and he married the Kingś daughter.
