- "If only I'd some green!"
- "Samneric. Get me a coconut. An empty one."
- Sam and Eric wait as Jack paints on his face. They looked down at the fire and the red and orange clay. Jack smears the clay on his face. Jack then states, "If only I'd some green!"
- "Kill the pig. Cut her throat. Spill her blood."
- Jack put the clay on his face. He then stated, "'For hunting. Like in war. You know-dazzle paint. Like things trying to look like something else--'he twisted in urgency of telling. '--Like moths on a tree trunk.'" He created a pattern on his face.
- "You let the fire go out."
- "It's only been an hour or two. We can light it again--"
- A ship passes the island when the fire died out. So there was no smoke to make a smoke signal to alert people that there was people on the island. Piggy then said, " I can't see no smoke, ' said PIggy incredulously. 'I can't see no smoke, Ralph--where is it?" When Ralph heard this he got upset and started getting tense. Piggy then said again, "Ralph-- where's the ship?"
- The hunters started chanting, "Kill the pig. Cut her throat. Spill her blood." Jack and the hunters returned to the platform with the pig. Ralph got upset about them letting the fire go out and hunting instead. Jack was still hooked on the fact that he had finally killed the pig.
- Ralph had said once again, "You let the fire go out." Jack had seem to be a bit embarrassed and said, "It's only been out an hour or two. We can light it again--" Jack didn't necessarily see this as a problem because they could just restart it to let out a signal for help. But Ralph was more upset because a shipped pasted the island because Jack and the hunters allowed the fire to go out by going hunting instead of watching the fire like they said they would.
- Jack became so angry with the boys that he ended up leading into violence. Jack became so angry he had hit Piggy. Jack had punched Piggy in the stomach then slapped him in the face. Slapping him so hard knocking his glasses off his face. When he had knocked them off his face he ended up breaking one of the lenses in Piggy's glasses.
