- "Aye, it is, it is surely".
- "Why, thank you. it's a fair poppet".
- "I made a gift for you today, Goody Proctor. I had to sit long hours in a chair, and passed the time with sewing".
- "Hang! Hang , y'say?"
- "Goody Osburn will hang! "
- Elizabeth and John Proctor discuss the courts and how they are somewhat getting out of hand. Elizabeth tells John that he needs to go into town and tell the court that Abigail is lying so all this commotion will stop.
- "John ,have you shown her some-what of contempt? She cannot pass you in the church but you will blush".
- "I may blush for my sin".
- Mary Warren returns to the Proctor's home and gives Goody Proctor a poppet doll she made while in court. Goody Proctor accepts the poppet doll and doesn't think anything of it and takes it as a gift.
- "It does sir, it does; and it tells me that a minister may pray to god without he have golden candlesticks upon the alter".
- "Mr.Proctor, your house is not a church: your theology must tell you that".
- Mary Warren tells the Proctors about what happened at the court today and the Proctors find out that Elizabeth was accused in the court. Mary Warren also states that Goody Osburn will hang and Mary Warren is freaking out because she does not want to get killed.
- " and how did it come into this house?"
- "Why I made it in the court, sir, and - give it to Goody Proctor tonight".
- Elizabeth and John proctor get into a heated argument about John's relationship with Abigail. Elizabeth claims that Abigail is trying to replace her and that John has a different meaning behind his blush
- Hale comes to the Proctor's home and has a discussion with the Proctors about their visitation to the church. Reverend Hale then has Proctor recite his commandments to show that he is a loyal member of the church.
- Cheever visits the Proctor's home because Abigail Williams had claimed she saw Mary Warren making a poppet doll and took it back home with her the Proctors. When at the home Elizabeth is confused as to what the doll is for and why it is such a big deal but then they find out that Abigail had been struck with a needle in the stomach and that they need to check the poppet for a needle in the pit on its stomach to determine if it is a part of witchcraft.
