- Sure, son.
- At the age of 4, my father passed away.
- Two years later, my mother remarried.
- My father proposed leaving Communist Poland for a better life in America.
- They'll sentence us to forced labor for even thinking that.
- Since leaving Poland wasn't allowed under normal circumstances, my father was able to convince immigration officials that our family was traveling for an exhibition of my bother's piano skills in the U.S.
- Reason for departure?
- And here we are. We claimed refuge in the Embassy in New York.
- Grandma was supposed to come separately. But, the plane crashed shortly after takeoff. They don't use Russian planes anymore.
