Süžeeskeem Tekst

  • Libisema: 1
  • * Thermometer showing that the temperature is dropping*
  • Alex: Brrr! It's so cold in here, I'm shaking
  • Sam: ME TOO! Where is the heatttt!
  • What's happening?Stimulus: The falling air temperature in the classroom is the stimulus, causing Alex's body temperature to drop below its normal set point.Receptor: The temperature-sensitive nerve cells, called thermoreceptors, in Alex's skin and brain detect the drop in his body temperature.
  • Libisema: 2
  • Alex's Hypothalamus: "HEY! ALex's temperature is dropping! Initiate the warming protocol! Must return to 98.6°F!"
  • Alex: Brrr! It's so cold in here, I'm shaking
  • What's happening?Alex's facial expression changes.Control Center: The thermoreceptors send a signal to the hypothalamus in the brain. The hypothalamus acts as the control center, processing the information and comparing it to the body's normal temperature set point.
  • Libisema: 3
  • Alex: I.. I.. I think I'm shivering..
  • What's happening?Alex's facial expression changes.Effector: The hypothalamus sends signals to the effectors but n this case, skeletal muscles. Response: The muscles involuntarily contract rapidly, a process known as shivering. This muscle activity generates heat, causing Alex's body temperature to rise back toward the normal set point. When the body temperature returns to normal, the receptors stop signaling the control center, and the shivering stops, completing the negative feedback loop.
