- At Tom and Daisy's house, Nick finds that Gatsby is already there. There is increasing tension and dislike between Tom and Gatsby, because Daisy and Gatsby are so obviously in love.
- Tom, Nick, And Jordan Driving Back
- Gatsby did this!
- Tom and Gatsby switch cars, and Tom has to drive around Nick and Jordan, while just Gatsby and Daisy are alone in a car.
- Tom and Daisy's House
- Tom mocks and accuses Gatsby of being a bootlegger and never attending Oxford. Gatsby defends himself calmly, but as Daisy sees the argument she begins to love Tom more. To prove that he and Daisy are too strong, Tom sends Gatsby and Daisy back to the house alone together.
- As they drive past Wilson's garage from before, they see that Myrtle has been killed by a hit and run, and Michaelis says it was a yellow car. Tom knows that it was Gatsby and Daisy who did it, and that Wilson will remember the car from earlier.
- Gatsby waits to see if Tom is hurting Daisy, but they are just talking and eating. Nick is supposed to tell Gatsby what is going on but he forgets and stays inside. Gatsby is left standing alone in the night.
