French Indian WarThe French and Indian War took place in 1754. It was between the French and Indian allies and Britain. The was over control of North America and the colonies and brought the colonies closer together. It also created a lot of debt for Britain.
The Boston MassacreThe Boston Massacre took place in 1770 when the colonists were insulting the British soldiers (by throwing snowballs and rocks at them). When one British soldier fell, all of the other soldiers started shooting into the crowd of colonists. 5 colonists were killed. This greatly angered the colonists and it led to stronger protests from the colonists.

The Tea ActsIn 1773, colonial tea merchants had to pay a tax on tea that the British tea companies did not have to pay. This made it really hard for colonists to stay in business, since they had to charge higher for tea. To protest, colonists part of a group called The Sons of Liberty dressed up as Indians and dumped tea off of a ship. This was later referred to as the Boston Tea Party.
