- The doctor refuses to treat Coyotito because Kino is poor. Kino found a pearl, the pearl of the world.
- After knowing that Kino has the pearl, he pretends to treat Coyotito but poising him instead. When Kino and Juan went to the market to sell the pearl, they ended up not selling it because they were cheated.
- People started to get jealous so they attacks Kino and even burns down their house. Kino even killed a few people .
- They started their journey to the city but they end up hiding in a cave to hide from the trackers.
- Coyotito was killed by a man with the rifle and later on kino and Juana throws the pearl away.
