- The shepherds were watching over their flock when an angel of the Lord came to them and said, "Don't be afraid for I bring good news. The messiah has been born today. You will find him wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.
- When the angel left, the shepherds decided to go to Bethlehem and see what has taken place. There they found Mary and Joseph and the child lying in a anger wrapped in bonds of cloth.
- After seeing the messiah for themselves, the shepherds went out and started yelling and shouting to everyone the good news, and praising God.
