- How many of you know about the life cycle of a butterfly? Today we will learn about the life cycle of the butterfly.
- A butterfly has four stages in its life cycle
- A butterfly first begins as an egg.
- A butterfly may also be called an "Imago or Adult". It may take them several days to learn to fly. Once they do they take off and look for food.
- 2nd: The butterfly grows into a caterpillar. Which is also called "Larve". A caterpillar is long and looks similar to a worm.
- They are very colorful, different and they love to eat and eat.
- During this time the caterpillar is resting. A change is taking place inside the pupa. It begins to turn into a butterfly.
- Stage 3: The caterpillar (or larva) sheds its skin rapidly and turns into the chrysalis or pupa.
- During the 4th stage the chrysalis opens up and slowly a beautiful creation comes out.
