Yes I have. I went for a really long and fast run a couple days ago out in the heat and I forgot my water bottle at home. What even is rhabdomyolysis?

Well what can we do about it?
Well first, we are going to give you IV fluids for the dehydration and to flush out the toxins from your system. After this and some rest, you can begin physical therapy to regain muscle strength and activity. Luckily, your case does not seem to be severe enough to warrant dialysis, which could happen if you had more severe kidney damage.

Okay. I'm still a little bit confused though. How did my body let this happen?

Rhabdomyolosis is a muscle injury that causes the disintegration of your muscles. It can happen because of injury, especially burns or crush injuries, high-intensity exercise and dehydration, medication, long periods of inactivity, or other medical conditions. Yours is likely due to muscle overexertion and dehydration. This is what causes the muscle fatigue, swelling, and soreness, nausea, and dark colored pee due to the lack of kidney function caused by the muscle death.
Alright I think I understand now. Thanks Doc!
In your situation, your body most likely was not used to that much activity, especially in those conditions. Your muscles did not have time to heal after the workout, leaving them damaged and painful. It was an error between the muscular system reviving itself and the lack of rest you allowed it.
