- Who's there!
- The old man had never done anything to me.I didn't want his valuables.I even loved him.Now that i think about it,i was his wretched eye.His blue vulture like eye with a film over it.Every time he gazed at me my blood would run cold.
- *Terrifed groan
- After thinking about it I decided to rid myself of that wretched eye forever by killing him.I had nothing against the old man just his eye.
- *Earlier*
- Its just the house shifting on its foundation.Its nothing.
- And for seven nights I entered his chamber and would slowly open the lantern carefully(because it makes noise when it opens) and would shine the light in his eye,but each time it was closed.
- Uh oh
- And when daytime had come,I entered his chamber and greeted him like I wasn't entering his chamber every night.

- *beat*
- On the eightieth,I slowly opened his chamber door when the old man jumped up into a sitting position but because it was pitch black in his room he could not see me.
- For a hour hour I stood still,I did not hear him lay down so I knew that he was waiting,searching the dark room for something or someone when i heard a s groan, it wasn't a groan of pain or grief but of terror.The sound made something inside me feel a sense of awe.
- I knew what the old man was feeling as i had made the same sound every midnight.I knew that he had been lying awake ever since the first noise dread building inside him and him trying to justify the noises.He had no idea that death was among him
- I waited a long time,not hearing him lay down,I decided to open a tiny crevice in the lantern.His wretched blue eye was open,causing me to grow furious.
- I stood still, trying to keep the light on his eye during which the sound of his heart beat drowned out all other sounds.I grew anxious because a neighbor might hear it.
- The neighbor heard a commotion and we just want to make sure everything is okay.
- With a loud shout,I leaped at the man.He his shriek was loud and full of terror.
- The weather is nice isn't boys.
- I smothered him with the heavy bed.The only sound coming thorough being his muffled heart beat.
- When I could no longer hear his heartbeat,I lifted the bed and checked the corpse,putting my hand to his chest,listening for a heartbeat.
- Feeling proud of my achievement,I chopped his body into pieces and hide them under the floor boards.
- *Body in floorboards*
- It was still four o,clock in the morning,dark as midnight, when someone knocked on my front door.It was the police.A neighbor had heard the shout and called them.
- Everything is fine officers.
- Me having nothing to fear,invited them in they searched the place and found nothing I told them that he was in the country.
- Why won't It stop!
- It was me!I killed the man!
- We sat and chattered until I heard a ringing in my ears,the officers didn't hear it.I turned very pale and started gasping.I swung the chair upon which I had been sitting on,the noise getting louder and louder.They didn't hear it and continued chatting.
- I screamed that I had had killed the man and that his remains were in the floor boards.
