- September 2, 1945: Vietnamese soldiers gain independence from France. Their new choice is to follow one of two leaders to guide Vietnam into a brighter future.
- US Downfall In the War
- July of 1945: Th Geneva Accords split the country of Vietnam into two. Now Vietnam is split by the 17th parallel, people have a choice between two nations. The two nations have different ideas and philosophies about government.
- Protest in US
- March of 1965: President Johnson launched a three-year-long campaign in hopes of South Vietnam winning and getting rid of the communist side of Vietnam. The first batch of troops is now stepping on Vietnamese soil.
- US Leave Vietnam
- 1968: During the Tet Offensive the number of US Troops dead rise to 543 American deaths. The Tet Offensive shows US officials how bloody this war has become. At Mai Lai, US Troops kill more than 500 civilians.
- 1968: President Johnson told the public that he would not have run for election again. There are protest around the country telling the world that they don't support the ongoing war.
- 1973: They sign the Paris Peace Accords and end the US involvement in the Vietnam War. The North Vietnamese release the Prisoners of War and then overtake South Vietnam and becomes a communist country.
