  • The army are celebrating the win. Iago convinces Cassio to celebrate with them and drink. Iago does this to carry out his evil plan. Cassio drinks a little too much and leaves.
  • "No, lieutenant—God, gentlemen—Help—Lieutenant—sir, Montano—Help, men!—The night guard is coming!"
  • "Go tell everyone there's a riot."
  • "Come on, you're drunk."
  • "Drunk?"
  • Montano is stunned by Cassio and is worried that he is Othello's wingman. Iago makes Montano believe that it's Cassio's regular routine and he drinks like that every night. Montano continues to suggest that something needs to be said to Othello of Cassio's drinking problem. They hear a voice of someone shouting for help.
  • "I’d rather cut my tongue out of my mouth than say anything bad about Michael Cassio"
  • "My God, I’m bleeding! I’ve been mortally wounded. I’ll kill him!"
  • "Stop right now!"
  • "What is the matter here?"
  • Cassio chases Rodriego and wants to hurt him. Iago and Montano enter and Motaeno tries to stop drunk Cassio and he tries to prevent the fight..
  • "Now two things still need to be done. My wife has to help make Desdemona take Cassio's side. I’ll put her on that. And I need to take the Moor aside right at the moment when Cassio's talking to Desdemona, so he’ll see them together. Yes, that’s the way I’ll do it. Let’s not ruin a brilliant plan by being slow to act."
  • Montano tries to stop Cassio but Cassio lost control and started fighting Montano. Iago tells Rodriego to alarm the bells and tell everyone there is a riot.
  • "let me go or I'll knock you on the head"
  • Othello enters, Cassio wounded Montano. Othello is furious and in shock. Othello demands to know what happened. Montano insists that he is in too much pain to speak and insists that Iago tells the story. Othello finds out what happens and discharges Cassio.
  • "Iago, I know you’re fond of Cassio and are downplaying this for his benefit. Cassio, I love you, but you’re never again going to be one of my officers."
  • "let me go or I'll knock you on the head"
  • Cassio regrets his foolish act and Iago gives him solutions and tries to help him. Cassio leaves and Roderigo enters, Roderigo is upset but Iago consoles him and tells him the plan is working but he needs to be patient. Roderigo leaves Iago says his soliloquy about his plan.
