- After the French and Indian war, to avoid issues with the Native Americans. The British had banned any expansion or settlement to the west of the Appalachians. This anger and annoyed the colonies as they are denied to do what they are here to do. Expanded. This has started to cause tension between the colonists and British.
- Townshendacts
- They're taxing glass, lead, paint, paper, and TEA!
- Due to the French and Indian war leaving the British in some debt. They soon started to tax the colonists. This is the first time people of colonies have ever been taxed. So, with this unexpected tax the people are now confused and angry. Without a representation back at home, this causes more friction between the British and colonists.
- The Boston Masscare
- A new act was passed in March of 1765. This act requires colonists to buy special stamped paper for every legal document, license, and newspaper of the colonies. This caused outrage among the colonies and especially in Boston. In Boston a secret resistance is made called the Sons of Liberty, found by Samuel Adams. With these soon rebellious acts among the colonies.
- The Boston Tea Party
- So, after the first two taxes on the colonies, a third one came around. The Townshend acts finally had the colonists protesting about these unfair taxes. In this mist they started the chat. 'No taxation, without representation.' With this more and more British soldiers started to come to the colonies.
- On March 5th, 1770 a fight happened between British soldiers and colonists. No one really knows who started it first some accounts say the colonists and others say the soldiers, but in the end it is the same. 5 colonists are killed and the British are blamed for the deaths. With this soon propaganda against the British started to rise. And the hostlie between the British and Colonists was at full boiled.
- Soon, another act was to pass the tea act, which taxes the tea. Which was the Sons and Liberty finally said enough. On December 18th, 1773 the Sons of liberty dressed up as Native Americans and went to Boston harbor and dumped thousands of tea in the harbor. This caused an outbreak and soon the British took martial law against the colonists. With this soon the American Revolution was in full effect.
