- Hi everyone my name is Jackie Robinson and I was the first person to break the color barrier and become the first black baseball player. My story was not that easy so let me take you back and show you my early life
- I attended UCLA located in Las Angeles. I excelled in football, basketball, track and most of all baseball. Although I was enjoying my college life I had to drop out in my third year to help support my family
- Although football wasn't my favorite sport I had to support my family with money so I started to play semi-professional football in Hawaii on top of working a construction job.
- In 1992 I entered the U.S army and attended officer candidate school. I was later commissioned to second lieutenant
- In 1944 I had to face court trials because I refused to sit in the back of a military bus. Unfortunately this lead me to have an honorable discharge from the army. This may have upset me but this helped me later while trying to get in the big leagues.
- I am not going in the back!!
