On a cold November night, Victor Valmont, the last heir of his cursed family, returns to the old manor, abandoned for years. He has only six months left before his thirtieth birthday—the age when all his ancestors died. The wind blows through the broken windows, and dust moves in the light of his lantern. In the living room, a portrait of his ancestors hangs. They all died at thirty. Victor, logical but afraid, decides he will not be the next victim.

Victor searches the manor’s records and discovers that in 1740, his ancestor Stefan Gilbert betrayed a woman accused of witchcraft, who cursed his family before dying. Since then, every heir dies at thirty. Suddenly, he comes across the coffin of his ancestor. Out of nowhere, the skeleton of his ancestor rises from the coffin, and a woman appears.

She whispers a terrifying truth: it is not she who kills the heirs, but the curse demands a blood sacrifice every generation. His own father, and his grandfather before him, were murdered by their own families to avoid a more gruesome death...Victor is horrified to discover that his uncle, the only other living member of the bloodline, is there, blade in hand, ready to kill him.
