- Macbeth wants to know if they are telling the truth or telling lies, because he becomes king of Cawdor almost instantly, so he wants to know if he will be king.
- Macbeth kills King Duncan to become king. Then runs away to not let anyone know that it was him who killed King Duncan.
- Macbeth is now fascinated that he is king and that he believes that the witches tell the truth about the future.
